Acceptable Use PolicyPLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY. BY USING GCEC'S INTERNET SERVICE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BELOW. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU MAY NOT ACCESS GCEC'S NETWORK OR SYSTEMS.
The Subscriber understands that use of GCEC's services deemed, in the sole discretion of GCEC, to be destructive, obstructive or otherwise contrary to these policies, including but not limited to, criminal and illegal activities, sending or posting fraudulent or harassing email, spamming (sending unsolicited mass emails), possession in Subscriber's account of programs used to shut down the system, defraud other customers or gain access to other computers, networks or servers, collecting or harvesting of GCEC usernames and possessing pornographic pictures in the Subscriber's GCEC WWW directory shall be subject to immediate termination of GCEC services. In the event of such termination, GCEC shall not be responsible for the forwarding of any email, preservation of data stored on GCEC systems, losses of connectivity, or any other losses, direct or indirect.
Subscriber shall not violate any copyright, patent, trademark, or other proprietary rights in their use or posting of information to the Internet. The Subscriber shall be responsible for any and all such violations or infringements and shall hold GCEC harmless therefrom.
Unsolicited advertising by Subscriber or Subscriber's users is strictly forbidden. For the purpose of this Policy, "unsolicited advertising" includes any transmission that describes goods, products or services, or by a third party retained by, affiliated with, or related to the vendor, provider, retailer, or manufacturer. This prohibition does not include either (1) discussions of a product or service's relative advantages and disadvantages by users of those products and services, (2) responses to questions, but only if such responses are direct replies to those who inquired via email, or (3) mailings to individuals or entities on a mailing list so long as the individual or entity voluntarily placed his/her or its name on the mailing list. Any other type of mass mailing by Subscriber or Subscriber's users resulting in network spamming is strictly forbidden.
Neither the Subscriber not the Subscriber's users shall stalk others, post, transmit, or originate unlawful, threatening, abusive, fraudulent, hateful, defamatory, obscene, pr pornographic communication, or any other communication where the message, or its transmission or distribution, would constitute or would encourage conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any local, state, national, or international law.
It is the Subscriber's and/or the Subscriber's users responsibility to avoid whatever is found to be offensive or obscene on any system. Subscriber and/or Subscriber's users must take responsibility for the material placed on GCEC's network and systems, and the statements made in mediums, including but not limited to, web pages, email, chat or discussion forums and Usenet news.
Neither Subscriber, nor Subscriber's users shall access or attempt to gain access to any other user's account or to any nonpublic or restricted portions of the GCEC networks. Neither Subscriber nor Subscriber's users shall intercept or attempt to intercept data transmissions of any kind.
GCEC reserves the right to modify this policy at any time and without advance notice.
