5:56 A.M. - All power has been restored. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
3:37 A.M. - We are aware of the outage that is impacting our members in the East Van Alstyne, Howe, Tom Bean and White Mound areas. This outage is a result of a transmission line outage. We have crews on site already and will work with the other corporations to get this back on as safely and quickly as possible.
We have been made aware of a scam going around to our members in our service area. This particular scam has unknown individuals contacting members, insisting they are with Grayson - Collin EC. Within these phone calls, they are stating "your GCEC account has a credit on it and the company will be taking over payments on the account for the next few months and no payments are needed to be made to us." If your account does have a credit on it, this is not something we would contact you about. The credit will simply be applied to your bill(s) accordingly.

4:35 P.M. - All power should be restored. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
3:54 P.M. - We are aware of the outage that is impacting members on the west side of Highway 75 in McKinney. We have crews assigned to the area and they will continue to work as safely and quikckly as possible untial all power is restored.
10:52 A.M. - All power has been restored to those impacted by this outage.
10:15 A.M. - We are aware of an outage impacting members in a part of our service area in McKinney. This a result of a car accident, due to the nature of the incident, first responders must ensure the safety of the individuals involved and once all is clear and everyone is safe, our team will restore power as safely and quickly as possible.
8:05 P.M. - From our General Manager/CEO - "We don’t know the wind speeds experienced in tonight’s storm, but we have reports of winds high enough to damage property, homes and at least a dozen poles. We also know of hail at least the size of golf balls in Howe and Van Alstyne.
The crews of restored service to over 5,500 members, and we continue to work to restore service to over 700 still affected. As the crews provide progress reports, they are reporting vegetation (trees) fallen into the power lines. Often, it takes longer to make these repairs. We thank you for your patience and understanding. Please stay away from any downed lines."
6:56 P.M. - After the storms that blew through our service territory we have 7,200 members without power. We have broken poles and debris in various lines that our crews are working against. We have all available crewmen working and will continue to work until all power is restored. To call and report an outage, or downed power lines please call 903-482-7100.

1:32 P.M. - We are aware of an outage impacting some of our members in our McKinney service area. We have reports from our Outside Operations team that a tree has fallen through the line causing two poles to break. We have a crew working to construct and restore power as safely and quickly as possible.
